Packing Charcoal for Export: Cartons, Bags and Pallets

Excellent charcoal can arrive in poor condition if the packing is weak. Charcoal faces moisture, vibration and stacking for weeks, so good packing is part of quality.

Common packing types

Cartons with inner bags

The most popular option for shisha charcoal: a sealed plastic bag inside a reinforced carton, printable with your brand.

Paper or woven bags

Common for BBQ charcoal in retail and wholesale weights.

Jumbo bags

For industrial charcoal and very large volumes.

What good packing looks like

  • Carton strength that withstands stacking.
  • Tight sealing against moisture and dust.
  • Accurate net weight matching the label.
  • Clear carton marks: product, weight, batch number.

Container loading

Cargo can be palletised for easy unloading or floor-loaded to maximise space. Charcoal must be fully cooled before packing, and the container must be clean and dry.

Documenting the loading

Photos of loading and container sealing reassure the importer and support any later claim.
